Situated on Queens Road Clifton,Bristol, Browns Bar & Brasserie was opened in 1992 and is housed in the building that has served as Bristol's museum, art gallery and the University Dining Rooms. It is modelled on the Doge's Palace in Venice.
It had been badly damaged during the war, but was restored to its original glory by Browns working closely with the conservation authorities.
The result is a most distinctive exterior housing a high ceilinged restaurant and bar that is popular with both Bristol's business and student communities, their friends and families. Browns is also very popular with locals and people from a wide area around the South West.
The restaurant serves the Browns menu, a combination of classic and modern dishes. The bar is well known also for its good selection of snacks and light meals as well as fine wines, cocktails and mixed drinks.
