The first ever Bristol Tweet Drinks happened at Marlow’s Bar at The Grand by Thistle hotel in Broad Street on Wednesday, and it was voted a success by the social networkers who came along.
The event was organised by Guide2Bristol as a way of getting people together who use the social networking platform Twitter.
Around fifty people came to Marlow’s lounge bar to have a chat and a drink, and to meet people that they had in many cases only communicated with through the internet messaging service.
Rudy Millard of Guide2Bristol said, ‘We had a brilliant time at Bristol Tweet Drinks, and would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came along and made the first event such fun.’
Anthony Bowles of Guide2Bristol said, ‘It was a really good night, and we met a lot of new people. We’re really looking forward to the next one, which should be in a month’s time.’
Guide2Bristol would like to thank the management of The Grand hotel who gave us the use of Marlow’s bar for the evening, and also special thanks for providing sparkling wine for all attendees at the start of the evening.
