This week, Bristol University is celebrating Penguin Books as the publishing house marks its 75th anniversary.
The academic institution houses the Penguin Archive, which contains books, letter and photographs, among other things.
Indeed, experts at Bristol university are currently involved in a four-year research project focussed on this resource with funding from the Arts and Humanities Research Council - which was founded in 1998 and is sponsored by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills.
Today (June 29th), an event is being staged by the university entitled Judging A Book By Its Cover: guest lectures on Penguin design.
Getting underway at 17:15 BST, it will take place at the Victoria Rooms on Queens Road and entry will be £5 or £3 for concessions.
The talk will feature Phil Baines, author of Penguin by Design and James Pardey, who has written articles on the art of Penguin Science Fiction and maintains a website on the topic.
