Bristol is to play host to its 17th annual Biggest Bike Ride in June this year.
The family-oriented event will provide cycling enthusiasts with the chance to choose from a number of routes varying in length.
Taking place on June 20th, it is a free and non-competitive arrangement and participants will be able to opt for the Family Fiesta, which is nine miles in length; the Avon Gorge Loop (14 miles) or the Failand Heights, which stretches over 18 miles.
Meanwhile, those looking to venture further will have the chance to complete the Sustrans' Ride to Portishead, which is 24 miles long, or the Clevedon Challenge over 38 miles.
The date has been set to precede National Bike week, which is a yearly initiative designed to promote cycling and show its social, health and environmental benefits.
Organisers of the Biggest Bike Ride have chosen to support the Lord Mayor's Appeal for Children this year, which helps under-privileged youngsters across Bristol at Christmas.
