The value of Bristol property may have risen in January, new figures suggest.
According to the latest index from Communities and Local Government, the average house price in the south-west region was £213,314 during the first month of this year.
This was up from £205,128 in December and £200,760 in January 2009.
Meanwhile, UK house values as a whole increased by 6.2 per cent year-on-year, with the mix-adjusted typical value standing at £207,159.
Scotland registered the most significant rise of all the countries at 7.1 per cent and was followed by England - which saw a 6.6 per cent jump - and Wales at 1.3 per cent.
Communities and Local Government - which sets policy on a variety of issues, including housing, urban regeneration, planning and fire and rescue - also noted that the typical prices of pre-owned dwellings rose by 6.8 per cent in January compared with a year before.
