Staff at Alveston House Hotel near Thornbury are celebrating after hearing that their hotel has been shortlisted in three categories of the Bristol Hospitality Awards 2010. The independently-owned hotel is being considered for the Small Hotel award, its management team is in the running for Team of the Year and Head Chef of its ‘Carriages’ restaurant Ben Halliday is a contender for the Outstanding Personality award.
Alveston House Hotel, which boasts 30 bedrooms, conference facilities for over 100 guests, an award winning restaurant and the highest AA rating of any 3 star hotel in the Bristol area, has been steadily building its reputation in recent years as a hotel for business and leisure combining the best of modern facilities with a traditional personal and caring service
Reaching the final stages of the awards, organised by the Bristol Hospitality Forum and run for the first time this year, will put the achievements of the 18-strong team in the spotlight at the Bristol Hospitality Awards ceremony taking place at the Bristol Marriott City Centre hotel on 22 March.
Julie Camm, who has worked at the Alveston House Hotel for 34 years and became owner in 1998, is excited that the hard work of her senior team is being recognised by the hospitality sector.
“We have a fantastic management team, each of whom is instrumental in setting objectives and standards for the business as well as delivering customer service that we believe is second to none.“ Julie explains.
“Being a smaller independent hotel means that our key people are always on the ground caring for guests and this very personal approach is appreciated by customers whom we are seeing return time after time.”
