Bristol property prices may have risen in January, with new figures from the Land Registry showing that values across England and Wales went up during the month.
According to the organisation, the typical value of houses and flats increased by 2.1 per cent compared with December.
This left the average value of a dwelling at £165,088.
The area which experienced the most significant rise was London, where homes saw their prices increase by 3.9 per cent.
In contrast, the north-east saw a monthly fall of 1.3 per cent.
Meanwhile, Nationwide recently suggested that the bad weather and the end of the stamp duty holiday on December 31st suppressed the housing market in January.
At the end of the year, the government stopped the break in the levy for homes worth under £175,000 that had been introduced to stimulate the UK's housing market in the wake of the credit crunch.
