Buyers in the city may be reluctant to meet the asking prices of the Bristol property they are bidding for.
According to Russell Jervis, managing director at estate agent haart, consumers across the country are generally making offers at between eight and five per cent under the figure requested by vendors.
His comments come in the wake of the release of research from Rightmove, which revealed that asking prices have risen by 6.1 per cent over the past year to an average of £229,398.
In addition, the number of new houses and flats up for sale has increased by 19.8 per cent over the same time and search activity reached record levels in January, with visitor numbers going up by 29 per cent year on year.
Mr Jarvis remarked: "There is a resistance from buyers to match the increased asking prices, as offers still come in at between 92 per cent and 95 per cent of the asking price."
