Description:
A group of school children from Bristol recently pitted their culinary skills against each other in a cooking competition.
This week, six pupils from Bristol Brunel and John Cabot Academies, along with their families, produced food based on what they eat at home, the Bristol Evening Post reports.
The youngsters were judged by executive head chef at the Cabot Circus Harvey Nichols store in Bristol Louise McCrimmon.
Commenting on the event, student data manager and co-coordinator Sam Brooks said: "This is ... a great opportunity for Bristol Brunel Academy to open its doors to the wider community to witness some of the fantastic work pupils produce here."
The event also saw staff from Tesco Staple Hill provide ingredients and hand out free recipe cards.
It was part of the Sinnott Fellowship, a year-long project by the Cabot Learning Federation, which includes the John Cabot Academy, Bristol Brunel Academy and Bristol Metropolitan Academy.
