Description:
Bristol Grammar School has been praised for high standards by an education watchdog.
The institution, which has buildings located on Elton Road and University Road, was recognised as outstanding by the Independent Schools Inspectorate, the Bristol Evening Post reports.
Its findings were based on an assessment conducted in October last year and they represent a full review of the school's provision since the appointment of the current head Rod MacKinnon.
He remarked: "I am particularly pleased about the report's emphasis on our excellent pastoral care of the students, as well as their achievements."
Meanwhile, the inspectors stated that the school is "thriving and confident" and praised its house system, which serves to ensure the physical and mental welfare of pupils on a day-to-day basis.
The breadth and quality of the curriculum on offer were also identified as impressive and were said to have improved since the previous inspection was conducted.
