Property prices in Bristol may be above the national average, new figures from the Communities and Local Government suggest.
According to the organisation, the mix-adjusted average house price in the UK stood at £199,303 in September of this year.
The only English regions to exceed this were the east, London, the south-east and the south-west, meaning Bristol may be among the cities in which the value of houses and flats is more than typical British homes.
Property prices in the south-west were said to stand at just above the £200,000 mark.
It was also found that the price of homes rose in September by 1.2 per cent compared with the previous month.
However, the Communities and Local Government - which describes its goal as to "create thriving, sustainable, vibrant communities that improve everyone's quality of life" - pointed out that property prices during the 30-day period were 4.1 per cent lower than they were during September last year.
