The average price of Bristol properties may be on the increase, new figures suggest.
According to the Land Registry's House Price Index, the typical value of homes in the south-west region stood at £169,267 in September. This was a rise of 0.7 per cent compared with the previous month's figure of £168,052.
Over England and Wales as a whole meanwhile, property values rose by 0.9 per cent to reach £158,377.
Not everywhere saw increases in home values though, with the north-east seeing a fall of 8.2 per cent over the course of September.
The Land Registry - which serves to register title to land in England and Wales and record dealings, such as sales and mortgages, with registered land - also revealed that during July the number of completed house sales rose by nine per cent year-on-year.
It recorded 57,579 such sales during the 31-day period, compared with 52,628 in July last year.
