Price rise to benefit Bristol property owners?

20 October 2009

Description:

Bristol property owners may be benefiting from a rise in values, as research has shown an increase to have taken place this month.

Figures from Rightmove revealed that the typical asking price in the UK is up 2.8 per cent compared to September. A year-on-year rise has been seen for the first time in 16 months, with the value up 0.2 per cent on the level of October 2008.

Commenting on the results, the head of residential research at Knight Frank, Liam Bailey, suggested that a seller's market is currently being seen, with those hoping to make a move likely to be able to find a buyer within a short time.

And Bristol property seekers may be in a position to take advantage of the economic climate, as he added: "You have got very low interest rates so people can borrow at very affordable levels at the current time."
