A new Bristol property development is set to provide "much-needed" social housing, according to one local authority representative.
Mark Wright, cabinet member for housing and service improvement at Bristol City Council, explained that the £20 million project will see the creation of 83 homes.
A further 68 houses and apartments are also to be made available for sale at the site, located off Whitehall Road in Speedwell.
Speaking ahead of a visit today (September 22nd) by housing minister John Healey, Mr Wright described the Bristol property plans as an "excellent example of partnership working".
"Meeting the demand for housing is one of the most important challenges the city faces and the authority is taking an innovative, multi-pronged approach," he said.
Meanwhile, a £150,000 makeover for Bristol's St Nicholas Market - funded by the council - is now underway, with trading continuing as normal for the ten weeks the work is expected to take.
