Win A Fabulous Bristol Kite Festival Sports Kite!

17 August 2009

Description:

***COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED***

Let's go fly a kite, up to the highest height, let's go fly a kite and send it soaring! Or so the words of the old song go. And if there's one philosopher who Guide2Bristol listens to with rapt adoration it's Mary Poppins, so with that in mind we've teamed up with Bristol Kitestore and Bristol International Festival of Kites and Air Creations to bring you a spoonful of sugar in the shape of a competition to win an amazing sports kite worth £120!

The Bristol Kite Festival is one of the highlights of the city's festival calendar. Now in its twenty third year, the festival is renowned worldwide for bringing the best kites and kite enthusiasts from around the world to Ashton Court for a weekend of blue skies and breezy fun. As a way to get out of the city into the fresh air it just can't be beaten, and there's no sight more stirring than hundreds of colourful kites bobbing along the Bristol skyline.

The Bristol Kitestore has been a supporter of the festival for years, and proprietor Martin Baker is regular fixture at the event. If you go along on the weekend of September 12th, you'll be sure to see him helping all sorts of kite folk, whether they are newcomers to the sport choosing their first kite, or experienced flyers looking for the latest equipment.

To celebrate the festival, we're offering Guide2Bristol readers the chance to win an amazing HQ Gallego sports kite, pictured right.  With a 2.4 meter span, a carbon fibre frame and special ultra light polyester sail, this is a high performance kite capable of crisp stunt flying over a big wind range. The Gallego is a superb all-rounder that combines solid precision flight with the capability for modern freestyle trick manoeuvres. The prize includes kite, low stretch Dyneema lines, wrist straps, full instructions and a heavy duty carry case. The lucky winner will be able to collect the kite from the festival over the weekend, and we'll also throw in free car parking too! Two competition runners up will also win free car parking for the festival weekend, which is usually £7 per car. Entry to the festival is free of charge.

To enter the competition, all you need to do is send us an email using the box below, with the message 'Kite'. We will draw the competition winners on Monday 7th of September.
