The Wanted first hit the UK charts just 18 months ago when their debut single All Time Low was a Number One hit. Since then they have been living the pop dream, notching up a series of hit singles, selling 400,000 copies of their eponymous debut album and attracting more than 30 million views on YouTube; their second album Battleground is currently performing well and has spawned a number of hit records including Lightening, Gold Forever, Warzone and Glad You Came.
The Wanted is just one of six major acts appearing at Westonbirt over two weekends this summer, with the money generated from ticket sales being spent on caring for the arboretum’s internationally important tree collection. The Live Music 2012 programme will be as follows:
• Friday 22 June – Will Young
• Saturday 23 June – Plan B
• Sunday 24 June – Madness
• Friday 20 July – The Wanted
• Saturday 21 July – Alfie Boe
• Sunday 22 July – Steps
