Description:
Follow @G2BristolDuring the forthcoming half term holiday the Tobacco Factory’s Brewery Theatre will be hosting Kid Carpet and the Noisy Animals, a brand new rock and roll musical for children aged three and over, and for adults too.
The young audience at the Brewery Theatre will be able to follow the adventures of charismatic singer Kid Carpet and his animal band as they make friends, play games, contemplate the world and rock out at a grand dance contest.
The show is guaranteed to be a perfect introduction for children to the world of live performance and contains a unique mix of theatre, comedy, animation and original live music to create a lively and enchanting performance.
The show’s songs include A Bear on a Boat in the Bath, Doing a Poo in the Forest and Getting to the Good Bit (Really Good Bit); all these catchy tunes, and more, have been recorded on Kid Carpet and the Noisy Animals’ first CD, copies of which will be available at the theatre.
The show has been created and written by Kid Carpet, who is otherwise known as Ed Patrick, who says “I have a two-year-old and have found myself quite naturally developing a range of songs about crossing the road, going up the stairs, eating yoghurt and going to sleep. I wanted to use these as a basis to try and put together some kind of performance/theatre/rock show/cinema amalgamation, which would be more than just a music gig for kids.”
The show’s designer is Katie Sykes who has designed many shows for Bristol theatres including Coasting, Fairymonsterghost, Treasure Island (costume), Endgame, Antigone, Aesop’s Fables, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt and Alice in Wonderland at the Old Vic and Cinderella: A Fairytale, A Christmas Carol, The Ugly Duckling and Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves at the Tobacco Factory. She has recently collaborated with Myrtle Theatre on a specially commissioned children’s opera at the Colston Hall and has worked many times with Travelling Light theatre.
Kid Carpet and the Noisy Animals will run at the Brewery Theatre from Tuesday 14 until Saturday 18 February with performances at 11.00AM and 2.30PM each day. Tickets cost £6.
