City Museum & Art Gallery to host Bristol Good Food Awards for restaurants
Bristol's City Museum and Art Gallery has been announced as the venue that will host the Bristol Good Food Awards gala award ceremony.
Following on from the success of Bath Good Food Awards last year (see video below), the Bristol Good Food Awards aims to recognise the best of Bristol’s restaurants and food producers, as nominated by the people of Bristol.
Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery will be the venue for a glittering evening of entertainment for members of the city’s food industry, as the gala evening on Tuesday 03 July will be a black tie event in recognition of people’s efforts to put Bristol on the UK’s foodie map, with awards in 35 different categories. The gallery gained worldwide renown in 2009 when it hosted the Banksy vs Bristol Museum exhibition, and over 300,000 people from around the world visited the show.
The gala award ceremony will see over 250 guests enjoy a drinks reception in the City Museum’s grand entrance hall, before being seated for a three course meal in the main hall provided by event caterers Milburns. The meal will be followed by presentation of the Bristol Good Food Awards, hosted by wine writer Angela Mount.
Angela Mount is also heading the independent judging panel, which also includes food and wine writer Fiona Beckett. They will lead a panel of judges who will select the best restaurants from a shortlist chosen by public nominations online and across the city taking place throughout March and April.
The evening will give Bristol restaurateurs and producers the chance to relax and mingle while the results of the judges’ deliberations are revealed. It will also give attendees the opportunity to see an iconic Bristol venue its other role as a conferences and events space.
