It’s been revealed that Cabot Circus in Bristol is to become the first shopping mall in the South West of England to offer visitors a free Wi-Fi service across its city centre site.
The shopping centre, which is owned by Land Securities and Hammerson, is teaming up with internet service provider The Cloud to offer the free service which will allow Cabot Circus visitors to tweet, update their Facebook statuses, surf the internet and even work, all via a fast, reliable and easy to use internet connection.
Several Bristol shops including Ted Baker, Krispy Kreme, Phones4U and Prêt a Manger already offer their customers free Wi-Fi within store but it will now be available throughout Cabot Circus and Quakers Friars allowing visitors to use their iPads, smartphones and laptops at broadband speeds.
The decision comes as more and more people are using the internet on the go; Bristol retailers know that their customers like to check deals, use apps and share product information via social media while they shop and feel that by encouraging this they are broadening their appeal.
The Cloud combines the speed of broadband with the advantage of accessibility while on the go.
