For 80 days, until Friday 06 April, many independent Bristol restaurants will be taking part in a campaign of special offers designed to allow diners to take a world foodie tour without leaving the city.
Bristol’s independent restaurants serve top notch food from around the world and the campaign offers an opportunity for diners to try new places and perhaps new cuisines that they haven’t previously sampled. From the famous Nigerian MoinMoin steamed bean cake at Iroko in Old Market to sizzling stone pot Korean Bibimbap at Surakhan in Clifton, there really is something for all tastes.
The participating Bristol restaurants include Dynasty and Obento, serving Chinese and Japanese food respectively, both restaurants are owned by Suzannah Ho, along with Zen Harbourside, she is pleased to include the two venues in the Around the World in 80 Days campaign and says that it is “a great idea and will promote all cuisine types to make dining out in spring 2012 affordable and exciting.” In 2011 MSN Food declared Dynasty to be one of the top ten Chinese restaurants in the UK.
One of the city’s newest restaurants, Namaskar Lounge on Welshback, is also taking part in the campaign; since opening the restaurant has received rave reviews and is said to be well worth a visit. Director Aiub Xec, known as Altaf, says that he’s “delighted to introduce Bristol to exemplary Indian cuisine and a top quality dining experience filled with spice, colour and splendour.”
Diners are invited to register their email address to receive all the great offers via email at www.80-days.co.uk and are encouraged to gather their friends and family to support local, independent restaurants and enjoy a gastronomic world tour.
