Guide2Bristol Cycling Competition

29 May 2009

Okay, you all know that we're big fans of cycling here at Guide2Bristol, and so we should be - we live in the UK's First Cycling City, after all. Even though we're still nursing our knees after pedalling 950 miles into the wind from John O'Groats to Land's End, we're already eyeing up our next bit of distance pedalling - Bristol's Biggest Bike Ride!

It's a great day out for cyclists of all ages and abilities, and we're happy to be supporting it. There are five bike rides to choose from, ranging from 9 to 38 miles, all starting from Millennium Square and heading towards a traffic free Portway, as well as venturing into the beautiful countryside beyond. We will be going the whole 38 miles, and hoping to see plenty of friends on the route!

There will be four of us riding on the day, Bernie, Phil, Rudy and Anthony. You'll be able to spot us wearing our official Guide2Bristol team jerseys, so please give us a wave if you do. We're awaiting delivery of the jerseys from amazing kit manufacturers Owayo any day now, but for the time being take a look at the image on the right to see how fancy we'll look.

To celebrate the ride we'll be giving away three jerseys, worth £50 each. Don't worry, they don't all have ‘Rudy' on the sleeve, that's just the mock-up. However, they all are manufactured in Germany with the highest quality performance fabrics. They're guaranteed by us to draw admiring glances from all and sundry as you cycle round town, or hydrate yourself with a pint of cider.

To be in with a chance of winning one of the jerseys on offer, simply leave a comment here, telling us something that you love or something that you hate about cycling in Bristol, or wherever you live. If you tickle our fancy, you'll win a shirt - it's a simple as that! Make sure to tell us whether you are a Medium, Large or X-Large too - the size chart is here. We'll pick our winners and notify you on Monday the 22nd of June.

Good luck!
