Bristol and Bath Railway Path

Category: Parks & Gardens

Description:

The Bristol & Bath Railway Path runs over a 13 mile stretch from St Philips Road in Central Bristol to Pulteney Bridge in Bath. Formerly used by Midland Railway it was finally converted to a pathway in the mid 1980s and is a popular cycle path used both for leisure and commuters. Also popular with walkers, with good access for disabled users, it is estimated that over a million trips are now made on the path each year.

Bitton is located at the half way mark where Avon Valley Railway run a café with toilets, bike and parking facilities. On Saturdays a steam train ride is available.
