Patchway is a town on the outskirts of North Bristol bordered by Bradley Stoke, Little Stoke and Easter Compton and is accessed either via the A38 (Gloucester Road) or M5. It is comprised of 3 main areas, those being Patchway Estate, Stoke Lodge and Aztec West. Major employers in and near the area include BAE Systems, Rolls Royce and Airubus UK all based around Filton airfield, and Minisry of Defence and Axa Sun Life at Aztec Business Park.
Local amenities include Patchway Sports Club (includes squash courts, 5 a side football, netball, rugby, tennis and a fitness room), local library, doctors clinic and a fire station. The main areas for shopping are at the Mall, located at Cribbs Causeway which hosts over 130 top name stores. There are also of course a number of local shops, bars, restaurants and takeaways throughtout Patchway itself.
Schools in the area include Callicroft Primary School. Coniston Primary School, Holy Family Roman Catholic School, Patchway C of E School and the secondary school is Patchway Community College. Filton College and the University of West of England are also in close proximity to the area.
Patchway Youth Centre is open from Monday through Thursday for different age groups each night and there are local brownies, cubs, scouts and guide groups as well as a number of youth sports teams for the area.
