Bradley Stoke is a huge housing development of 1,000 acres built in the late 1980's and continuing to be expanded now. It is located on the outskirts of North Bristol and is bordered by Stoke Gifford, Winterbourne and Patchway. As a relatively new development this has attracted a somewhat younger, family orientated demographic as compared to other more diverse areas of Bristol.
Mainly a commuter zone there have been some developments around Aztec West and Almondsbury Business Park and major employers such as the Ministry of Defence and Axa Sun Life are nearby. Transport links are very good with easy access to both the M4 and M5 motorways, as well as a local train station at Filton Abbeywood and national rail station at Bristol Parkway. There are also a number of regular buses providing transport to Bristol City Centre.
Aldi is the major supermarket for the area however an assortment of shops, bars and restaurants are spread across Bradley Stoke.
Schools in the area include Baileys Court Primary School, Bowsland Green Primary School, Holy Trinity Primary School, Meadowbrook Primary School and Wheatfield Primary School. The main secondary school is Bradley Stoke Community School however both Filton High School and Patchway Community Colege also serve the area.
