St Pauls is an inner suburb of Bristol, situated north east of the city centre, west of the M32. It is bordered by the City Centre, Montpellier, Easton and St Werburghs.
St Pauls gained notoriety for the infamous St Pauls riots that took place in the 1980s, but more positively the St Pauls Carnival which attracts 60,000 people each year in a carnival event similar to the Notting Hill Carnival.
There is a strong sense of community within St Pauls with many cultural activities organized and many local action groups set up to improve the area.
St Pauls is characterised by its Georgian architecture, a particularly fine example is the Georgian Portland Square.
St Pauls has a variety of shops, pubs and cafes reflecting the diverse cultures that make up the St Pauls area. St Paul's Park is located behind St Paul's Church in Portland Square.
