Description:

Bristol Harbourside

The City docks were closed in the 1970s when the Royal Portbury Dock was opened. Harbourside has undergone massive regeneration since the 1990s and now features many residential developments, new hotels, a City of Bristol College building, bars, restaurants and night clubs. In fact Bristol Harbourside is the largest dock regeneration project in the whole of the UK.

The Harbourside is a popular destination for Bristol tourists and city residents alike, and is the location for popular Bristol events such as the annual Bristol Harbour Festival, the Bristol Wine and Food Fair and Bristol's Biggets Bike Ride.

The area is also home to the Watershed Media Centre, the Arnolfini art gallery and @ Bristol, a science & technology exploration museum and IMAX theatre. An aquarium has now opened on the site formerly used by Wildwalk.
