The Bristol Old Vic is one of the UK's most respected theatres, with a long history of bringing exciting and challenging work to the city.
In March 2011, work started on a £19.26 million redevelopment project - a scheme that has been promised to the city for almost 20 years.
The aim is to complete redevelopmnt by 2016, allowing the Bristol Old Vic to be able to produce more theatre in more spaces, with a welcoming and open foyer and café space and an outreach programme that is embedded in the building.
The aim is to create a landmark building for Bristol that will welcome audiences from across the country. Throughout 2011 and the first part of 2012, they will be redeveloping the Georgian auditorium and backstage areas, so they won't be in use until April 2012.
The rest of the building is still open and the theatre is producing a full programme of work at Bristol Old Vic and around the city.
