ID Cards - Do You Want One?
The Toff took to the streets this week keen to find out what real people (not imagined ones!) think about I.D. cards.
"I really want one," said Helga Fieldmouse - D.O.B 15.7.1965 / Address 21 Dove Street, Stokes Croft, Bristol, BS2 3UL / Bank details: Natwest, Broadmead, Acc:67898243602 overdrawn by one hundred and twenty-three pounds and thirty pence / Gas bill: payment overdue by three weeks / One parking ticket outstanding For the sum of seventy pounds(summons in the post) / Attended jumble sale in aid of The Palestinian Relief Fund in St.Pauls on 2nd April wearing a red top / Had coffee with suspected illegal immigrant at Café Kino on April 3rd and April 5th / Frequents health food stores in Montpellier and Clifton / Burns incense at home daily / Meditates -
"I believe the government always has the purest of motives and just wants to keep us safe, so I will get an I.D. card and try to help."
"I don't bloody want one," said Pete the Dog, (not on the system yet). "It's like becoming government property. Who wants to be tagged like a cow?"
"I want to be tagged like a cow," said Elizabeth Potty of Stokes Croft (personal data too long to list.)
Well there you have it. The Toff would like to know what you think about this issue. Please write to us at: thestokescrofttoff@gmail.com.
