Bristol City 2 Blackpool 0, Southampton 2 Bristol Rovers 3

Bristol City 2 Blackpool 0

Nicky Maynard scored his 7th goal of the season and what a cracker it was! A SPECTACULAR scissors kick put City 1-0 up in the 28th minute and then Maynard put in another skills school lesson in the 2nd half with a cheeky back heel to release Danny Haynes to grab the second.

Bristol City move up to 9th in the Championship table and are away to top of the table Newcastle on Saturday. There are literally thousands of City fans travelling up to the game. St James Park wont know whats hit them once the boys start bouncing round the ground.

Southampton 2 Bristol Rovers 3

Bristol Rovers went behind twice in this game but snatched a dramatic winner in the 96th minute.

Adam Lallana opened the scoring in the 1st half for Southampton but Rovers were able to cancel this out with a goal by Chris Dickson just before the break. In the second half Southampton again went ahead through N'Diaye Papa Waigo but the equaliser came on the 65th minute with Jo Kuffour again scoring for Rovers. The game seemed destined for a draw beofre super sub Andy Williams unleashed a stunning left foot from outside the area to grab all three points.

Bristol Rovers are still in 3rd place and travel to Norwich on Saturday, here's hoping October will be as good as September was for the Rovers.
